Amour Vert was founded in 2010 by Christoph Frehsee and Linda Balti, and soon created a reputation for being “ahead of its time”.
Not only does the company promise sustainability, but provides swaths of information for the consumer to better understand the production and distribution processes of garments.
Amour Vert partners directly with mills to develop their own signature fabrics: bluesign silk, TENCEL modal fiber, Paris Rib fabric, Ethical Wool, Cottonseed Cupro and Femme Fête. Information on each of their fabrics is provided on their Sustainable Fabrics page.
There is also transparency of the designers behind the simple designs–where you can meet the atelier behind the samples that make the clothing consumers purchase.
Amour Vert offers the ReAmour service: a resale marketplace for second hand Amour Vert clothing to keep it out of the landfill. This can be done through their website and helps customers successfully sell their worn Amour Vert.
Amour Vert also offers a Buy a Tee, Plant a Tree program. This is in partnership with American Forests to plant a tree in North America for every t-shirt purchased from the brand.
