Coton is the brainchild and labor of love from two MBA grads and sisters in law, Elizabeth and Alyssa Blankenship. In their words, "Coton is a fully sustainable luxury fashion brand with a focus on utilizing existing materials to deliver premium clothing while also reducing both the company and consumer's collective carbon footprint."
Coton uses only existing materials bought directly from luxury fashion brands and mills. They partner with New York City based manufactured to produce garments made to order- eliminating waste through destruction of unsold inventory.
Through offering free mending services for all garments a year after purchasing, along with special redesign/remake services for any product that isn't exactly to the customers preferences, they're committed to clothing that is as durable as it is beautiful.
Elizabeth has 7 years of experience in the design, development and production of high-end luxury fashion. She holds a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a Graduate Diploma from Central Saint Martins and is an MBA candidate at the Darden School of Business.
Alyssa has 10 years of experience in Financial Planning and Corporate Strategy within the Fintech, Consulting and Consumer industries. She holds a BA in Economics from Yale University, where she was a four-year member of the women's hockey team, is a mother of two, and recently earned her MBA from the Ross School of Business.
