In Sophia’s words:

The Minneapolis Unisex Sweater is named for my birthplace—rated as the second most climate-change-impacted American city, according to the Climate Disruption Index. I have fond memories growing up in the twin cities, shoveling snow peaks 4x my height from our driveway, and taking half an hour to layer up and play outside for a quick 10-minute recess.

Minneapolis is the first place in the US my parents, Chinese immigrants, called home. The local community welcomed them with open arms, even featuring them on the local nightly news during their grad studies at the University of Minnesota.

This sweater takes you from breezy fall afternoons to layered snow days to the first signs of spring. In Minnesota, we wear sweaters year-round and this sweater’s design and durability is meant to love and last for countless cycles around the sun.

Material:  100% cashmere.

Material Origin  -  This extra-fine, pure cashmere takes a cue from nature—produced by goats from the coldest parts of Inner Mongolia to create extremely durable pieces. The region’s cashmere is known for its durability, warmth and ultra softness.

This family-run factory based in Ningbo, China is one of the premier sweater manufacturers in the region with over 30 years experience. Their advanced knitting capabilities enable them to develop custom pieces within five days, minimizing waste and producing exactly what their customers want at extraordinary speed. The facility is certified pollution-free with a water recycling program and exclusively all-natural materials.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Public Habit is a made-to-order clothing company specializing in high end wool and cashmere products. Fashion, as we know it, is built on a model of planned obsolescence: items either go out of style or break down, forcing the customer to continuously refresh their wardrobe and further perpetuating the wasteful machine of commerce. Founder and CEO Sydney Badger is flipping that model on its head by only making clothes after the consumer has ordered them, reducing returns, virtually eliminating overstocked inventory, and allowing for optimization of material use and supply chain dynamics by shipping directly from factory to consumer.
